Eligibilty Criteria
For 3-Year Diploma courses in Engineering and Technology, a candidate must fulfill the following conditions:
- Must be registered for admission into 3-Years Diploma Courses offered by SCTE, Assam as notified by the DTE, Assam.

The candidate must pass the H.S.L.C. or equivalent examination in a single sitting with Mathematics and Science as compulsory subjects without grace marks in Science and Mathematics and also have to pass individually in both theory and practical/Internal Assessment with:
- 40% marks on average in Mathematics and Science for General candidates
- 35% marks on average in Mathematics and Science for SC candidates
- 33% marks on average in Mathematics and Science for ST candidates
Note:
a) In case of students from the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS):
- Science & Technology may be considered as Science.
- In place of Social Science, other subjects of higher marks may be considered.
b) In case of students from the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination Board (ICSE):
- Marks of History and Civics or Geography may be considered in place of Social Science.
c) No compartmental candidate will be allowed to take admission.
AGE:
Minimum age limit is 16 years as on 31-12-2025. There is no maximum age limit. Candidates must be born on or before 31-12-2009.
RESIDENTIAL ELIGIBILITY:
Candidates must be an Indian Citizen and a Permanent Resident of Assam. Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) must be produced at the time of counselling. Otherwise, his/her seat will get cancelled at any stage of his/her study.
However, candidates applying under Central Government Employee (CGE) quota must submit the Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) of their home state (other than Assam) and a certificate regarding the service of Father/Mother from the concerned authority located in Assam.
ELIGIBILITY FOR SPORTS QUOTA:
- The candidate must be a medal winner of State Games/State Championship/Tournaments organized by Assam Olympic Association/State Sports Association/Directorate of Sports & Youth Welfare, Assam and will be decided in order of Medals of Gold/Silver/Bronze received.
- The medals received by the candidates must be within the period of last 3 years.
ELIGIBILITY FOR NCC QUOTA:
Selection of candidates for NCC category would be considered in order of merit as per NCC Examination Certificate received from the Commanding Officer, National Cadets Corps or higher level to be treated as given below:

Note: Candidates are asked to submit the documents of the attendance of the camp, if any.
Note : Candidates applying under NCC and Sports quota must attend a physical document verification process as and when notified by the authority. Candidates of NCC and Sports quota are requested to visit the website regularly for physical document verification venue and date.
Admission Procedure
Admission procedure for Admission into 3-years Diploma in Engineering & Technology Programme in Government Polytechnics of Assam for the session (2025–26)

FEES (COUNSELLING AND ADMISSION)
a) Applicants will have to pay the registration fees (non-refundable) of Rs. 300/- (Rupees three hundred only) plus applicable taxes, if any, online by clicking on the payment link. Details regarding online payment will be available on the application portal.
b) Admission & Fee payment:
- The candidates have to visit the allotted institutions with the required original documents for physical verification only on the 1st allotment.
- The candidates must pay the below-mentioned admission fees at the time of Original Document Verification at the institute where they get the 1st allotment.
- Rs 4700/- (Four Thousand Seven Hundred) for all candidates except for Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW) category, excluding examination fees, hostel rent, and mess dues.
- Rs 4200/- (Four Thousand Two Hundred) for TFW candidates excluding examination fees, hostel rent, and mess dues.
- If the data entered in the online portal do not match during physical verification with original documents, then his/her candidature will be rejected for that round. The competent authority will do the correction of the data of the candidate. It may be considered for the next rounds with corrected data if the candidate fulfills the eligibility criteria.
- The hostel and mess expenses will be collected at the institute level after the allotment of the hostel to the candidates as per prescribed rates/guidelines subject to availability of hostel seats.
Instruction: Candidates are instructed to retain the printouts of the receipt generated, if any, for future reference.
